Selle aasta üheks eesmärgiks oli joonistada iga kuu vähemalt üks pilt :) Õnneks tuli üks tellimus kolmele pildile, siis kohe järje peal. Mõnikord avastan FB sõbralistist mõne huvitava profiilipildi, mida võiks joonistada, Kairi on üks nendest.

One of my goals this year is to make at least one drawing per month. Fortunately someone ordered three drawings. Sometimes I find interesting profile photos of my FB friends that call for drawing them, Kairi is one of them.

Krokodill / Drawing a crocodile

 Ma ei ole jooksma saanud juba kaks nädalat. Eelmine nädal oli väike op ja viimane kuu olen hädas olnud haige kurguga, nüüd antibiootikumid ka. Üllataval kombel ei seganud see keskendumist (mitte, et aega oleks).

Krokodilli silm on tõenäoliselt kõige ajamahukam töö, mille ma olen teinud. Ja nagu ikka joonistusest pildi tegemine muudab selle kuidagi häguseks.

Oli mõte erinevate loomade silmi joonistada. Eks näeb. Praeguseks krokodill :)

I haven`t been able to run for nearly two weeks due to an operation and illness. So I was really surprised I was able to concentrate enough to draw.

An eye of a crocodile is probably the most time consuming drawing I have made. Taking a photo of a picture always leaves it too bright/blurry etc :(

I had a thought to try to draw eyes of different animals. We`ll see.. But for now, an eye of a crocodile :)

Ämblikud/Spiders

Istun arvuti taga, pooleliolev pilt on minu ees, pliiatsid lauale paigutatud. Otsin taustaks filmi. Siis märkan, et paberile tekib väike vari, mis vaikselt liigub. Hea küll, nüüd näen juba hallutsinatsioone?
Vaatan üles lambi poole ja kes muu, kui ämblik teeb laskumistrikki. Võrkupidi laes, laskub natuke, peatub, jalad laiali ning laskub järgmise jupikese. No mida?
Mu arahnofoobia oli kunagi (ja pikka aega) kordades hullem. Üle loomulikult ei ole. Teraapiana olen hakanud ämblikke pildistama (kui nad ikka ohutus kauguses on), proovisin joonistada ja pilte suudan täiesti rahulikult vaadata. Suudan nad toast ka välja toimetada, kui nad liiga kiiresti ei liigu ;)
Aga tundub, et osa ämblikke on võtnud oma missiooniks mind iga hinna eest ehmatada.
Ükskord vaatasin peeglisse, olles sellele suhteliselt lähedal. Silmanurgast nägin liikumist, pöörasin pead ja samasugune laskuja oli sihiks võtnud minust kõige rohkem viie sentimeetri kauguselt mööduda.
Siis lugesin voodis raamatut. Jälle mingi tume laik jäi vaatevälja. Oli jõudnud praktiliselt minu pea juurde.

I am sitting behind a computer with a half finished drawing in front of me. Pencils placed on the table, ready to be used. I am searching for a film to play in the background. Then I notice a shadow that is moving ever so lightly. So now I am hallucinating?
I look up to the lamp and who else but a spider is decending? What the? It decends a bit, stops with its legs spread out and decends the next small bit.
My arachnophobia used to be way worse. Of course I am not over it. As a way of therapy I have started to take photos of spiders (if they are in a safe distance that is), I have tried to draw one. I can look at their pictures. Mostly. I can trasnport them safely out of the room (if they don`t move too fast).
But it seems a group of spiders has set their sole purpose to scare me to death.
One time I was looking into the mirror being relatively close to it. Out of the corner of my eye I saw movement, I turned my head and one was decending from the ceiling just like today. It seemed to aim to catch my head being not more than five centimetres from it.
Then I was in my bed reading a book. Again a dark spot in my peripheral vision. It had virtually  reached my face. Splendid.

Päikeseloojandu kontsert Türil. Margus Vaher & Paul Neitsov

9. augustil toimus Türil kolmas päikeseloojangu kontsert. Kontsertidega koguti raha Türi Põhikoolile LEGO-mudelismi ringi alustamiseks. Pääs ilusale õhtule oli tasuta.
9. augustil oli ilus, päikseline õhtu. Sissejuhatuseks laulsid muusikali "Hammasrataste vahel" esinejad. Õhtu kulminatsiooniks olid laval Margus Vaher ja Paul Neitsov.
Mõlemad lihtsalt suurepärased esinejad. 
No ja suutsin üle mõne aja lõpuks ühe pildi valmis joonistada ^_^

Seekord autogrammi ei küsinud, selle sain juba 2010. Aga pildi tegin kingituseks. Täielik üllatus tabas aga pilti üle andes. Rõhutan, eelmise pildi tegin viis aastat tagasi. Nüüd vaatas Margus pilti, küsis, kas minu tehtud ja siis ütles, et teab mind küll. Ja tal oli mu nimi meeles. Oh, kuidas tegi hingele pai (rääkimata imetlusväärsest mälust).

Robert Redford is probably my first memory when it comes to watching movies. The first movie I was him in was Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. I have seen so many of his movies since. I read a discussion on imdb about his looks vs his talent. I was definitely blown away by his blond hair and undoubtable charm. Being a young teenager as I was. But it cannot have been all that kept me watching more.

Last week I got some US stamps to send in hopes of getting a few autographs if I was so lucky. And although I have been quite slow with drawing lately I wanted to give it a chance. So this is the drawing that tries to show Paul Newman and Robert Redford. I sent it to Mr Redford, I`ll see if he replies. Fingers crossed.

Just because I had some extra time for a chance I decided to draw Thranduil (Lee Pace) once more. Much more happy with this one :)

I finally got to see The Battle of the Five Armies. Major effects and a nice summary to the Hobbit trilogy and prequel to Lord of the Rings. But that is not what this post is about obviously.

Thranduil as portrayed by the talented Lee Pace was .. to melt for. I have seen the first Hobbit film but not the second one. He appeared in An Unexpected Journey but then he did not catch my eye for some reason. But he is amazing. I have never liked men with long hair. Thranduil on the other hand is  (well, technically Lee Pace) gorgeous.

I have been catching up on Supernatural. At some time I started from the very beginning and reached unil .. the beginning of sixth (seventh) season (?) but then there were no new episodes and I took a break. At the beginning of this summer I thought to catch up again. Re-watched the fifth and sixth seasons and now I am in the middle of eight. So, here is a new drawing of Jensen Ackles.

It has been a great struggle for me to complete a drawing. I start them and at some point, leave them unfinished (or make only a  sketch) even though I see things/people who I would like to draw. On of them being Doris (a former pupil). I loved the reflection on her glasses and I thought to try.

Up to now

Saw a picture today that got me off guard. Someone who meant a great deal to me and claimed not wanting to be in a relationship with anyone had stated his FB status to taken. Anyways.

Tomorrow is the second competition of this year, Tartu Olypmpic Run. 10km. Had a serious scare last week. I have been training hard, not being ill (I missed so many trainings last year due to having a sore thoart etc) and managed to hurt my shin really bad a week ago. But more on the subject of running tomorrow after the race. In the warm weather. Probably warmest that I have competed in.

This is like the first summer that I don`t have to do anything. I mean, I work around the house, tend the garden, do household chores but since graduation I don`t feel this .. obligation to do anything. If I didn`t do something productive, search for materials etc, I felt kind of guilty. But now I had time for myself.

Hello, I am a bookaholic. I have always loved to read. Since joining Goodreads , hmm two years ago I have been able to keep better track on reading. I love that site. And since I don`t have to read scientific literature anymore ohh, I have time. Though I understood I might be a bookaholic only this summer. I have piles of books next to my bookshef (that is packed with books also) and I still keep buying them, even though I have tons of unread ones waiting to be picked up.

And the last subject on my topic. Jam. Since we have so many apples this year I decided to try to make apple jam. So I have approx 20 jars made and still want to make some more. I love making jam. Tried some basic apple jam with sugar, then with cinnamon (my favourite) and with cardemon.

I had the opportunity to meet Ashton (world record holder, Olympic and now Word Championship winner in decathlon) and Brianne Thiesen Eaton in Tallinn on 31st July during their training camp.
They held an example training and our coaches and young athletes were able to see them and ask questions. They were so nice, open and friendly. And I of course hade to make a drawing to ask for their autograph (unfortunately I did not have time to make Brianne`s). Which I got :)
Ashton was the first person to take a photo of my drawing :) Though I tweeted it to him as well.

Nope, this post has nothing to do with French Revolution.

 Lately I have discovered Bastille, a band form UK. Right now I am obsessed with Dan Smith`s, the lead singer, voice. It is haunting. Addictive. Beautiful. Been listening to their songs, first one Pompeii heard from radio and then it went. I seriously have to stop though, when I listen to someone too much I lose interest. But I can`t stop.

Once Upon A Time - Colin O`Donoghue, Ginnifer Goodwin, Josh Dallas

Finished my drawing of Colin O'Donoghue today and thought I would put it here together with two previous Once Upon A Time related ones. Once Upon A Time is one of the few not UK tv shows that I watch. And absolutely adore.

So, first is Josh Dallas who plays Prince Charming/David Nolan. The second is Ginnifer Goodwin aka Snow White/Mary Margaret Blanchard and as already said Colin O'Donoghue as Captain Hook/ Killian Jones.

Saying Tom made my day would be such an understatement. So, yet again he was ever so sweet to reply to my letter and sign my drawing. I couldn`t express how grateful and happy I am that he found the time to write back in addition to his autograph (which I actually received last week).

I cannot wait for Da Vinci`s Demons.
