Barcelona 1.08

Tibidabo lõbustuspark on tinglikult jagatud kaheks, ülemine osa sisaldab algupäraseid ning alumised tasemed hiljem lisatud atraktsioone, mida on võimalik kasutada päeva jooksul piiramatu kord (Krugeri maja).

Meie gruppi sattus kolm väikest last.

Leia Sagrada Familia
Ahjaa, Tibidabo mäelt avaneb kaunis panoraamvaade Barcelona linnale. Mingil hetkel kadus linn täielikult, paks udu hiilis mere suunast meie poole. Niipalju siis imeilusast vaatest.

Tagasi hakkasime sõitma umbes 17:45 ja kesklinna jõudsime 18:30 paiku. Õhtusöögiks veisefilee Celler de Tapas restoranis.

1st August. We have a one hour time difference with Barcelona that made waking up without an alarm clock really easy. When looking for a place to live I read that Bird House room price includes breakfast. For me, it is no essential but it makes the start of the day so much easier and I make my desicion in favour of room with a breakfast 98% of the time. Bird House has a shared kitchen and a fridge (for three rooms in our case) but it doesn`t have breakfast opportunities in the building so we got breakfast coupons for Ordesa cafe that includes a croissant and either cocoa/coffee/tea. But cammoon.
Sagrat Cor in fog

We had plenty of time so we could take our time walking to Placa de Catalunya. The first bus to Tibidabo  mountain leaves at 10:15am. The drive took us through Barcelona`s busy traffic and the constant traffic lights and ended on top of Tibidabo 512 meter high mountain. The mountain that is crowned by Sagrat Cor church and the amusement park that was built in 1899 and opened in 1905.

Tibidabo amusement park is diveded into two parts, the original attractions in the top level and the newer ones, that can be used countless times a day (except for Hotel Kruger), on the five levels below.
Aili is afraid of heights (a bit, depending on how you look at it) but she bravely overcame it (in the plane already, actually) on the colourful ferris wheel. We took almost all the attractions that were meant for adult, merry-go-round, swing ride, house of mirrors, 4D movie, etc. I had thought we`d be done by 3pm but considering the queues and how interesting things were, we had no chance to leave before 6pm. And Aili overcame her fear again taking the fun roller coaster.

At some point we found ourselves waiting in a looong queue that moved really slowy. When we got closer it was clear the virtual reality train ride with goggles took 1min50sek and by then we had waited for about half an hour. That massive queue. The train drove two laps and when it finished the first, most people screamed and continued so until the end of the drive. After an almost 50-minute wait it was finally our time. That wait better be worth that wait. We found our vagon, received our goggles, put them on and the world disappeared completely. There were three cartoon animals on an old time raiway and the sound coming from the goggles isolated the outside world. We drove on the railway, flew into abyss when the tracks ended, flew a dragon. It all felt soooo unbelievably real, as I was actually there. That was absolutely incredibly indescribable experience and so worth the almost one-hour wait.

Then it was time for Hotel Kruger. Another 40-minute wait. Maximum 10 people inside at one time, we were instructed not to run and stay qith our group at all times. We had three younger children in our group as well. Wow, that was also a brilliant experience. I only wish I could have been the first in our group, but I was the last. We met several horror movie characters moving from room to room like Freddy Kruger, Hannibal Lecter, Dracula, etc.
Real actors with realistic make-up and the horror built not only on unexpected surprises but also good acting. The children screamed all the way, being really spooked. But the creepiest thing was the knowledge of someone walking behind you.
Then the house of mirrors and we decided to call it quits for the day. We tasted churros😊 I had thought it was better for some reason 😁

View most of the day
Oh, the panoramic view from Mount Tibidabo is picturesque. But our 1st of August was overcast. Like, I went to Barcelona hoping to sunbathe a tiny bit and all I got that day were clouds. At some point Barcelona disappeared. The thickest fog came from the sea burying all the buildings. So much of our stunning views.

We started driving back at about 5:45pm and reached the town centre at 6:30pm. For dinner
we had a beef fillet in Celler de Tapas.
